How to prepare peanuts for carp fishing video out now on youtube!

I just finished making a video on how to properly prepare peanuts. Even though this may seem simple there are a lot of new anglers getting into carp fishing so it is important to put the information out there so they cook their particles correctly so it does not harm the fish. It is very easy to do and the video will show all of the steps involved. When you are all finished these can be used in spod / spomb mixes or even grind some up into your method mix or groundbait. Also you can use whole peanuts for hook baits as the carp love them.

The above will be your raw peanuts before you soak and boil them.

This is just a generic maple syrup. It will be a lot thinner than a good name brand and because it is thinner it will absorb into your peanuts quicker as well leaving them with a nice golden brown color.

Delkim D-lok installation video out now!

Continuing on with some how to videos I decided to do a Delkim D-lok install video. They are very easy to install and only take around 4 minutes per alarm. The D-lok is a very handy accessory because you can quickly put your alarm on the buzz bar or remove it fast as well. You no longer have to mess around with trying to get your alarm just right because once you install this every time you attach your alarm it will be perfectly lined up with the buzz bar. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Session #4 video out now with a screaming delkim run and a 20lber using CC Moore popups!

I just finished up a quick night session video. I had a nice Delkim run on video but the battle part was too dark to see so better luck next time during the day. You could see me netting the fish as well so that was cool. I went over some tactics in the video and also what rigs I have been using with the CC Moore pop ups. These were Gaz Fareham Northern Special Pop ups in yellow 16mm. I was using Belachan Stick Mix found here. Belachan Stick Mix and also a shellfish concentrate but you can substitute with the  Belachan Extract .

I would mix the extract and the stick mix in a small bowl then add around 1 inch at a time to a pva bag. I compress tightly and then add more until my bag was around 2 1/2 inches tall and then slide it onto the hook length and bury the hook into the bag making it tangle free and cast better as well. Check out the video here.

2013 Session #3 video up now! 16lber and then a 30lber Catch and Release Fishing!

2013 is shaping up nicely with more fishing showing for myself. I had this awesome 16lber on CC Moore xxl tiger nuts in talin with a stick mix that I shared in my previous blog from before. I then followed it up with a 30lber shortly after! I could not have asked for a better night!

As far as rigs go, I just kept it simple with some korda n-trap hook length , a normal hair rig an then I made pva bags and slide them into the hook length and placed the hook into the bag to avoid tangles.

2013 Quick Session video up now 31lber first fish of the year.

Well 2013 has been off to a slow start with the water temperatures in the lower 40's and the fish activity at an all time low for me.  I finally struck gold the other night with my first fish of the year and it was a big one for sure. Thirty one pounds 6 ounces the Reuben Heaton scale finally came to as the fish settled. I was definitely pumped up after blanking for a good week and a half. It can get frustrating at times when you don't have fish in front of you and then out of nowhere you get a big one unexpectedly. Hopefully more will soon follow and after this one I then landed a 25lber.

What was funny is this all happened when the weatherman said it was a ZERO percent chance of rain and it dumped on me to say the least. During the heaviest of the storm is when I had a screamer and it was the thirty one pound fish. It finally stopped raining when I landed the fish so I could film and takes some photos. Soon after it started to rain again and then another nice fish went ripping out with my bait. I have been using CC Moore Belachan stick mix with shellfish concentrate and placing it into a pva bag and sliding it on my hook length. A Gaz Fareham Northern Special pop up in yellow had the fish addicted. Also the HNV Betaine hook baits did the trick as well for the 25lber. Hopefully More fish will be coming soon but this was one heck of a way to start off the season!

CC Moore Stick mix how to & xxl tigers video/article out now!

This has been one of my spring favorites for the past couple years. It seems the carp love a sweet bait early spring and then move onto fishy flavors as they get closer to the spawn. This mix is super easy to make and also you can fish it either in stick mix form or a method ball/ ground bait.

Here is the video on youtube found below on how to make this stick mix from start to finish. Click HD to see in high quality!

Also you can check out the article found here in the latest TOKS newsletter starting on page 8.
