Cygnet Spod Bucket Adaptor Kit Installation how to

I just received my Spod Bucket Adaptor Kit from Cygnet and decided to do an instructional video on installing the legs and getting it all set up. It only takes about 10 minutes to achieve and figured I would do a step by step with video to show how to do so. I added a video also if you want to follow along that way as well. I will later show it in action.

First step is to get your tools ready for the job. Below you can see a photo of everything you will need to get the job done.
1. Drill
2. 5/16" drill bit
3.tape of some sort (I used drywall tape)
4. drywall screw
5.pencil,pen,marker
6.tape measuer
7 phillips screwdriver wider head
After you get your tools sorted you will then begin the process of adding the first bracket onto the bucket. Simply place some tape on the side and align the bracket past the handles. This will reduce the chances of the plastic cracking while you drill.
Align the adapter with the lip that is around 1 inch below the top of the bucket. Simply hold the adapter and trace into the holes so you have a marked spot to drill.
Now that you have the holes traced take a screw and start a pilot hole. I used a drywall screw since they have a nice point and will puncture the plastic very easily.
Now that you have a pilot hole started simply take your drill bit and slowly drill into the bucket. Going slow will ensure you do not crack the bucket and of course use a sharp drill bit.
Once you are done drilling your two holes simple peel off the tape and clean any edges you may have. Next take your two screws and press them through the holes from the inside of the bucket coming out to the outside. Place your bracket on the bucket and push the screws through the hole. Final step is to place the nuts on the end of the screws and tighten down evenly. Take a phillips screwdriver to do the final tighten from the inside of the bucket.
Now that the first major step is done the rest is basically the same. You will want to take place tape around the bucket. I used drywall tape that I had laying around. Peel the tape off and get a tape measure to determine how long it is.  I measured mine and it was 36 inches around the top. Next step is to divide by 3 since we are using 3 legs. This will give you the distance between each adapter as seen below.

Now that we divided by 3 we can mark our tape like the above images. The starting point around the bucket will be the first adapter that we had placed on the bucket already and start the beginning of the tape from the center of the adapter.
Now that you have your marks going around the bucket simply repeat the adapter process as we spoke about above and remember that each adapter needs to be centered to the line on the tape. Once you are done you are ready to screw on your legs!
Now that you have your Cygnet Spod Bucket Adaptor Kit all installed head out to the banks and make spodding a ton easier on your back and body!

I just finished up a video on the Trakker Mod 60 Brolly. I love this brolly because it has saved me so many times in all weather conditions. It made for a much better fishing trip and of course kept my gear and cameras out of the weather conditions.

CCMoore Odyssey USA 30 Pound Common Carp Catch & Release Active Feeding

Just finished up this video. I had a really nice 30lb common on CC Moore 24mm Odyssey baits. The funny part was the release. I usually throw a few bits near the edge to see what kind of natural food eats it. Upon release the fish started to actively feed on more Odyssey like it could not get enough!

Shawnee State Park Carp Fishing 2014 Session

This summer has taken us to many places both far and wide. I decided to join up with Brian Verbitskey and travel to Shawnee State Park to try for some carp. This lake used to be notorious for catching 20-30 fish in a day but as you can see we did not have that result today. It was not until the end of the day that my friend got into a fish.

CC Moore PVA / Spod / Spomb Mix Best for Summer / Fall Carp Fishing Video out now

I wanted to show off what I do for my summer into fall mix. Being the summer offers a ton of natural food I found the best route to go is doing something similar as the fish will be hunting out fishy type baits. I am using a lot of CC Moore products in this video and you can read the full article in the Carp Anglers Group North American Carp Magazine " NACA " found here. http://carpanglersgroup.com/naca/2014Q2NACA/ The full article starts on page 27.

PVA friendly the CC Moore Glycerine way Part 2 of 2!

Part 2

Part 2 of this section I wanted to mainly focus on particles in glycerine with no extra liquids. I found I got a much better explosion when the pva melted which you can see in the video below.

The above is the CC Moore Particles in Talin and I added in glycerine to produce the pva friendly mix. I used a pva mesh stick for this part as I wanted to focus primarily on the explosion comparision from a mix with more liquid compared to just a pva friendly particle mix.

After dropping the mesh stick into the tank the break down was quicker due to the mesh and left a nice presentation on the bottom that any carp would find irresistible . I used the same rig before which had a Hi-Viz Tutti Frutti Tiger on it just to grab a photo of how the bait was presented after the break down.

After recording this and rewatching it a few times I came to the conclusion that this was an insanely easy mix to use every time out on the bank with little to no prep time and creates a deadly tactic worth trying. As winter drags on expect a lot more videos to come.. Brian Wingard

2014 Carp Fishing Session Video Vlog #5

In this session video I show a 27 pound common carp caught and released in the United States on CC Moore Equinox. The first fish was Equinox and the other big fish was Live System just to clarify as I got a little mixed up in the video. I am using CC Moore Baits which you can buy at Big Carp Tackle and I have caught a lot of great fish on them this year. I had a very nice Delkim run as well which showed the full run from start to finish and the release. The second fish was 36lb 8oz and was caught on Live System using pva bags of pellets. I have lots more footage to come so stay tuned!

2014 Carp Fishing Session Video #3

I went out for a quick session and was using both CC Moore Equinox on 2 rods and Live System on my other rod. I had back to back brace of fish one on each bait and ended the night with 2 great fish. I have lots more footage to come so stay tuned!

2014 Carp Fishing Session #2 Video

Shortly after my first session I decided to go somewhere else to see if I could get into more and more fish on the Equinox from CC Moore! I sure did. All I did was a catapult of 18mm boilies and fished a pva bag with pellet over top. Waited an hour and fired 3 more boilies over just to create a sound. It seems the fish are always listening and move in on the sound. 32lb 4oz Common just came out! Very excited with the results and then the windy really picked up with white caps on the water. Hopefully more to come on my quick session videos.

2014 Carp Fishing Session #1 Video out now!

Well spring has finally sprung and after fishing for around 3 weeks I had my first real short session. As as was sitting there I didn't see any signs of fish. The water was ice cold and I was just trickling in a little bit of 18mm Equinox boilies and also 18mm Live System. About 2 hours into it I had a few beeps and then had a slow steady run which resulted in this very nice common carp of 26lb 8oz on the newly released CC Moore Equinox 18mm boilies with matching pellets in pva bags. Also another note I just received my Sonik Rods and they cast and play fish like a dream.  You can not beat the price of the rod as well so that is always a nice feature as well! I love near the reel the rod is a little stiffer which makes for easier netting by yourself. I landed a few more fish from 24lbs and up and then finally landed this beast of a fish at 31lbs 12oz to finish out the night. Lots more session videos to come so stayed tuned. PVA friendly particles the CC Moore Glycerine way Part 1 of 2 !

Winter time leaves the carp angler dreaming of spring and with so many winter days to go through until it begins to warm up the internet can be a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips.  I was reading the CC Moore bait blog and read an article on CC Moore Glycerine and some of its uses. Right away I knew this would apply to most all of the anglers out there reading this. We have all heard about adding salt to any particles to make them pva friendly but certain baits we really don’t want to add salt content or even make them salty in any way shape or form. Glycerine allows the baits or particles to keep the same color, smell and taste all while making them pva friendly and with a few steps you can also create a high leakage mix using pva bags.
Part 1 video found below!

The first step in this article I tool some CC Moore Hi-Viz Tigers the Tutti Frutti Tigers to be exact which can be found here.    I took a small sized Korda Krusha to break them down into various sizes from small to large to give the best presentation on the bottom of the lake as the pva broke down. It is best when using particles to create as natural of a presentation as you can so having various shapes and sizes can fool even the weariest of fish.

The next step is quite simple as all you have to do is add in the CC Moore Glycerine which is found here.  You do not need a whole lot but make sure that it is mixed very well on both the particles and the liquid.  I also spoon in some extra liquid to use in pva bags. I feel adding liquids to bags give the bait a lot of extra appeal as it can draw fish from a farther range than just the bait alone. After you mix in the glycerine you will want to let it rest for around 5 minutes to make sure it absorbs a little and is fully mixed.

After letting the mix rest and making a pva bag up I did a tank test to see how the break time was and also how much area the liquid covered on the bottom. Before I finished the bag I added in a few spoonfuls of extra liquid to make sure my bag had maximum attraction and of course draw the fish in faster.

In the final picture above you can see just how much the flavor leaked over a few minute period and of course this is in a fish tank so keep in mind a lake that has constant moving water will draw fish in from a far distance very quick.

Now that we covered pva bags lets talk about pva mesh. The only drawback I can see is you can not add extra liquid obviously to the mesh as it would just leak out before you even cast. You will see in  the video above how a very tight pva mesh bag will pop as it breaks down in the water. Also another tip if you want your breakdown time to be even slower yet just dunk the made up pva bag or mesh bag into the glycerine/tiger mix and it will prolong the breakdown even more.

The above picture you can see the pva bag on the left broken down and the flavors leaking everywhere. The mesh bag on the right was just dropped into the water. The picture below shows the broken down mesh bag and how it is extremely difficult to pick out the hook bait.

Trakker NXG 8 Rod Holdall 12ft Review 2014 for Carp Fishing

The 2014 season is flying by fast and with part of any fishing the use of gear and how it functions is extremely important. Once in a while I do an initial review and give a quick run down of how I like something or what I think of it but again this review is more long term in more ways than one.  I have been a fan of Trakker products for many years mainly because they are top notch quality and they last. One thing that is always scary over time is when you decide to upgrade you hope that the company still produces the same quality you expect.
It was around 6-7 years ago that after many holdalls I finally tried out my first piece of Trakker luggage which was a Trakker Jackal Series 8 Rod Holdall.  Back then my initial impressions were that it was massive, well made and a nice piece of gear. Fast forward to 2014 and I wanted to get another holdall for my new rod setup. The old one was still in mint condition but as all tackle addicts soon find out they have more gear than they really need so I wanted to get a holdall for my second rod setup.
My expectations were high because I wanted something that would last just as long if not longer than my original holdall from Trakker. Fresh out of the package the build quality was even better than my original with a lot more padding and comfort features.  This is an eight rod holdall and you can have four made up rods and four unmade rods in this holdall. I can fit four big pit reels very comfortably in this holdall. I have used quite a few brands through the years that claimed they could fit big pits and they can not hold them. One popular name brand could barely fit two big pits and they also claimed they could fit "eight" rods also. In the pic below you can see my holdall with three made up rods.
On another note you can see the pouch for the reel area is massive! Check out the photo below.
In this holdall you can fit many key items for a session. Not only can you fit 8 rods but you can fit your net, weigh sling, retention sling and other items. I can even fit my brolly in the long pocket if I wanted to. There is tons of storage space which a lot of other companies can not offer. Now with such a huge load being able to fit in this holdall you have to wonder how is the heavier weight on the shoulder or even hands if you carry it this way. Well the answer is simply awesome! The padding makes for a very comfortable trip and you can see the padding in the picture below.
I did want to include some more photos so you can see the outside and the above mentioned room.
Finally lets show the inside and how well padded the holdall is for your rods. You can see everything is extremely well protected. A good amount of padding ensures your rods will not get scratched or bent in transport.
After looking at all of the padding one very simple yet important thing is the zippers on this Trakker holdall are heavy duty. All of the other brands I have used and also my friends have always broken zippers over time. My other Trakker zippers are still perfect and I am confident that these will be the same quality. There is nothing worse than breaking a zipper and not having your gear work the way you want it to.
In closing just like my other Trakker holdall this does everything I want it to do. It has the proper quality I am looking for. It can hold all of your much needed gear for a proper session and then some. You can expect your hard earned dollars to go a long way with this as it will last you years upon years and stand the test of time. I feel I can highly recommend this to anyone in the market for one and know years later they will still be happy with their purchase. Please ask me any questions you may have about this product. You can see my Youtube video above or you can write to me on my facebook page found here.  https://www.facebook.com/BrianWingardCarpAngler
